Hollywood South Casting was founded by James Baker in 2006 and began casting talent in local productions, commercials, tv series and independent films shooting across Louisiana. For over 20 years, HSC has sourced and cast talent for commercial, print, film, television and advertising campaigns across New Orleans, Louisiana, the Southeastern US, Los Angeles, Chicago and Southern California. Hollywood South Casting has worked closely with companies all across the United States having coordinated and booked talent to audition and travel to shooting locations domestically from Texas, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, North Carolina, Indiana, Illinois, Nevada and California.

Internationally, HSC has coordinated talent to travel as far away as Isla Simca, Panama and overseen submissions and auditions from talent from all over the world. HSC has cast campaigns with foreign usage/distribution markets such as Europe, Canada, Latin America and coordinated and booked talent to travel to the US from as far away as Mexico City, Mexico.

Hollywood South Casting began during James Baker’s senior year at the University of New Orleans in the months following Hurricane Katrina. The University of New Orleans was instrumental in helping develop Hollywood South Casting under the direction of Debra Daniel and oversight of David Hoover, co-chairs of the Liberal Arts Department.

James Baker interned with Paramount and Clear Channel Radio (now iHeartMedia) and participated in the National Student Exchange program to attend California State University Northridge, CSUN in Northridge, CA. Baker landed an opportunity to intern on the feature film “Curious Case of Benjamin Button” and coordinated Director, David Fincher to speak as a special guest speaker at his film school, The University of New Orleans.

Hollywood South Casting went on to cast a variety of commercial, film, television, print, and new media projects. HSC has also cast advertising campaigns, web series, public service announcements, corporate training videos, internal corporate videos, live promotional events, fashion models, hosting events, industrial infomercials and music videos. HSC has been featured in such publications as the New York Times, Australian Broadcasting Corporation and National Public Radio at WWNO in New Orleans, LA.

HSC has cast a wide range of talent including actors, stand-in’s, promotional models, extras, audience members, contestants, student films, short films and both Non-Union and Union national commercials. HSC uses a wide range of leading industry resources, tools and connections to bring together top tier talent for your production.
